The person behind Metropolyd
French roots.
Based in Trondheim.
I’m Erwan Thomas, a French system designer and sound engineer with more than 20 years of experience in live audio across France and Norway, including 15 years at Trondheim Lyd.
Through Metropolyd, I work with venues, promoters and production teams on everything from intimate performances to large festival stages. Across live productions and installations, I combine prediction and measurement with careful listening, practical experience and close collaboration with the people using the system.

Trondheim Rocks
I led system design for the festival’s move to Ladesletta, with the Alcons Audio system supplied by NPro. The design addressed audience coverage and the demands of an exposed outdoor site.

Installation experience
Alongside my work in rental and live production, I worked with Trondheim Lyd’s installation department on sound systems for venues, cultural centres and schools. My focus was on adapting each system to the room, the customer’s expectations and the way it was used.

- Adapting the original design
- Reassessing the original PA design and adjusting the system to the venue’s current needs, practical constraints and customer feedback.

- Working with venue managers after the initial setup: answering questions, resolving issues and helping the system continue to meet their needs.

- Practical training to help users understand and operate their sound system confidently in everyday use.
